About ES-UK
The first founding trustees came together in December 2003, together with Rod
Read as administrator to 'brainstorm' what ES-UK might manage to achieve,
funding permitting. We gained charity commission recognition in April 2004.
Funding has been and still remains a limiting factor, to attempt to achieve the
goals that the idealistic trustees want to see happen.
Since 2004 the issue of Electrical Sensitivity is getting more and more
publicity, people with ES are acknowledging the cause of their problem, the
authorities (including many of the medical profession) refuse to accept the
reality and the battle is well and truly on.
The circle of trustees was expanded in August 2007, to cope with the new
challenges that this will bring. Rod Read, and many volunteers who supported
him, achieved public and media recognition of ES-UK's presence over the 4 years
since its inception. For a number of reasons the charity and Rod Read have
parted company and the reins have been handed back to the trustees to administer
day to day operations.
Things will change, and this is the only enduring reality. We are all working
together, along with volunteers old and new, to bring ES increasingly into the
public arena, to gain medical and authority recognition, in order to improve the
quality of life of those affected by this debilitating condition. Join us,
support us, together we will make progress.
