ES-UK is delighted and honoured that Olle Johansson has agreed to become a scientific adviser to the charity. He is well known internationally as one the leading researchers on ES and its causes. Dr. Magda Havas, of the Environmental and Resource Studies Program, Trent University, Peterborough, Canada, has also kindly agreed to become a scientific adviser. She is internationally known for her work on EMF pollution, has published widely, and has taught a course on the biological effects of EMFs since 1997. We are also pleased that Dr David Dowson has agreed to act as a scientific adviser to ES-UK. He was, of course, a founding trustee of ES-UK and has done much nationally to help those discovering they have been sensitised to electromagnetic radiation.

The development of computer and non-computer connected devices has allowed for growth in the installation of technologies based on radio frequencies and microwaves which permit wireless connection between various computers and/or laptops. Wifi technology (Wireless Fidelity) offers the possibility of fast connections via radio frequencies without the use of cables or sockets. Bluetooth, wifi, PDAs, WiMAX (broadband Wifi) are all technologies which permit voice and data communication without the use of cables.

Thank you for your encouraging messages about the new-look ES-UK Newsletter (December 2007). It's good to know people read it! Ruth Davis' Newsletter Extra - Lighting on the problems of energy-saving lighting interested many readers. A week or two later this topic was headline news, with items in the Daily Mail and the BBC1 News at Ten. Their main concern was the safe disposal of the mercury in the new bulbs, but they also mentioned people who find such bulbs difficult and some of the illnesses the new bulbs can cause or make worse.

15/01/2008 - Glasgow underground is in the process of implementing mobile phone and wifi support [Read More...]

Work will begin later this month to install a mobile and wi-fi network on Glasgow's subway system. Operator Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) has signed a deal with Arqiva to provide a combined cellular and wi-fi network at all 15 stations.
